What people are saying…
-
“The individual character stories are all too familiar and continue to be relevant to this day. These stories are impactful and I appreciate all you are doing to make sure they are told authentically.”
-
“The conflicts within are very relatable. I think each topic is some sort of timeless struggle as well, which could lead viewers to validate their own personal struggles that it can get better. I think Amber's arc was represented outstandingly well. It mirrored a lot of internal conflict I had for a very long time.”
-
“I think it is a lovely story about all the shit happening in people's lives. We always think that some people have it better than us, but everyone has their struggles and that shows in this script.”
-
“I relate to Ash's story and all the emotions they are trying to process as someone who comes from a conservative Christian upbringing. Like Ash, I felt like other people were already labeling me and sensing something was different before I was even ready or aware of what that was. I think part of it is that it is hard to see yourself as anything but cishet because when you're in that environment, it is dangerous to be anything but. So your mind kinda protects you from being able to fully realize it until you're finally forced to confront it. The topics you are talking about are being handled with great care and sensitivity which I appreciate. I think you have a great message and this could really hit hard for people.”
-
“It was empowering, thoughtful, and will become even more phenomenal as the songs are developed. I believe it does great in delving into so many topics in a way that is both effective and equally distributed. I also love the characterization of each individual character and how they all come together in the end! I LOVED the dialogue between Mark and his younger self.”
-
“The final polyphony song is a really really cool concept for tying together everyone's stories. It makes it feel like even though everyone is going through drastically different things and they all may feel isolated in their problems at the end of the day they aren't alone. It really feels like you did your research and took the time to approach these topics with respect and care. I may not have been through what Amber went through, but as someone who has been sexually taken advantage of in toxic relationships, I feel like her experiences after the fact felt real and valid.”
-
“I genuinely was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Firstly, I loved the diversity and representation. Secondly, I appreciated the overall messages and how they all literally blended with each other. I was able to relate to every single main character and their stories.”
-
“I Identified with Ash and Damien the most. As a black man who has always held himself to a standard that is not a statistic – just to be at the same level as my peers, and a queer man who comes from a family full of Christians… these two characters hit deep in my heart.”
-
“There were some very beautifully written scenes that did make some of the characters come to life for me. I also like the non-linear narrative, as that also adds to the themes of polyphony and cacophony that eventually all get sorted out in the end.”
-
"I really like the way the web was woven to connect all of these characters. I also like that no character was left behind when it came to delving into what fueled their actions and thoughts - there was equal love and thought put into every individual and all the conflicts they entered felt very real."

-
“I really liked it! I can tell you care about the script and the messages you're trying to tell! Each character was very distinct and had strong personality traits - but were also complex! All of Ash's monologues about the Bible were very strong. I felt represented as a queer person!”
